Question for you bourbon gurus... I want to grab a decent bottle for myself to enjoy during the holidays. Thinking the $75 and under range... I enjoy good bourbon but probably don't have the same level of appreciation most of you have. My go to is usually buffalo trace, Elijah Craig, or eagle rare. I've had some of the hard to get stuff in years past and of course it's great. What's yalls suggestion for something that be the next step up that would be on the shelves.

It's Bourbon Society of BR! Not Scotch Society. You best be drinking bourbon only tomorrow night.

You can't go wrong with Blantons or EH Taylor Single Barrel is back in stock. I would go with either of those. Both will be for under $75. You could also go with Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. It's definitely more rare but you might be able to find it around. All three options are good solid bourbons that are a step up from EC12 or Eagle Rare.

NPD: PMP 50/50

Thinking about trying a 60 (12)/40(antique) to try to yield closers Pappy 20 results. Thoughts?

I did dah 60/40. It's got a longer finish obviously and the 12 does buffer the harshness of the antique. All in all, its a sweet complex good blend. I'm happy.

Smooth and very sweet. It's twice as sweet as Angel's Envy.

I'm not usually one to ascribe flavors but I definitely taste raisins very distinctly.

Decent-short finish. It's not bad but I'm not sure I'll seek it out again.

Thanks for the feedback... How does the four roses single barrel, barrel strength compare? I almost grabbed it today... But I decided to do a little more research
