How is that stuff? Better than the regular cask release?

Yeah I think so. Nothing to write home about but it's def better than MMCS. I'm a 46 fan though.

Just a heads up -- for some of you baws that have an ample stash, if you ever feel like you want to unload some bottles for beer, solid bottles pull a lot from the craft beer community. A guy posted one of these (2015) asking for 4 bottles of 2013 Proprietor's BCBS and it looks like it will get done.

If you want to branch out and have the stash, it might be worthwhile.

ETA: But I've admitted my bourbon knowledge is more or less miniscule, which is why I always defer to y'all. To me it seems like a pretty nice deal.

Nah...when I'm not going for it or if I feel secure my stuff is being held by someone I trust, I would advertise it.

I've been helped on here by people doing that and I try to do the same.

Alice's rabbit hole. Beer has a secondary market like bourbon. For example, Bourbon County Rare (stout aged in Pappy barrels for 2 years) is going to retail this year for $60/16.9 oz. bottle. It's a brewery only release with a limited bottle count. Secondary market on that is going to be your first and second born.

Proprietor's is generally Chicago retail only, so it leaves the brewery, but again with limited bottle counts. Prop normally retails in the mid-$20's is my understanding (22 oz. bottle, but a 2015 Prop will be in a 16.9 oz. bottle). Obviously secondary is higher. A 2013 Prop is going to secondary much higher. Right now there is a post on mybeercellar for a single for $250. Truthfully, I'm not sure if that's fair. Beer secondary market is a different world for me -- I don't have the bankroll for it, so I don't even bother. I go retail or not at all.

I'd expect the market to crash on a 13 Prop in 2-3 years because I would think the flavors would diminish, but I've never had an aged Prop so I can't say. I'm only throwing this out there as a heads up to you guys. Sometimes you want to try new things. You can do the research and determine if it's something that interests you.

ETA: I just googled Stagg and it said retail is like $450. Are you shitting me?! You frickers need a new hobby. Infuse some Charter with vanilla beans and tobacco leaf I'm gonna go back to my sub-$50 bourbons and let y'all do y'all's thing

I just talked to a guy who owns a liquor store here in Kentucky. He bought a barrel of Blanton's, Eagle Rare, Four Roses, and Weller Antique. All to be delivered by the end of the month. He said the Weller was something special.

Wow...that market seems more inflated. I can stretch a rare bourbon bottle for a year. You can't do that with a beer.

A little victory pour of that Calandros KC 12. Really enjoying this bottle. Finally bit the bullet and bought a bottle of SAOS 7 yr rye that many of y'all have recommended. its been a minute since I had some good rye, and that juice is good as advertised.
