wow... early this year. that being said, republic usually gets their allocation a good while before they distribute it. it usually sits in the warehouse for at least a month. i assume it will be the same this year.
well, looking at last years release map it's not that early...

Louisiana sucks at getting all the releases. It always is slow to get here and we barely get any bottles.

Wish I knew someone that lived in North Dakota

i wouldnt say that's accurate... it gets here fast as anyone else. republic sits on it for at least a month figuring out the allocations. and Louisiana gets their fair share. there are states that get barely anything.... literally

There are states worse than us, looking at you Oklahoma. But we do have issues with nationwide releases and not getting quality and quantity of bottles.
I mean there were around 4000 bottles of Cured Oak released, Louisiana got 30 or so. Blade and Bow has yet to come to LA. Wild Turkey Masters Keep hasn't made it down here yet. Hell people started to get Sweet Wheat at the end of July/beginning of August and we got it in LA last week.
Most distributors don't see Louisiana as a large market so we don't get large allocations and that really sucks.

keep in mind, things sit in republic/glazers warehouse for weeks, even months sometimes. just because some areas appears to have something on shelves sooner, it doesnt necessarily mean it hasnt made it to the state.
but yes, the 30 bottles of CO sucked but i've never seen much of the other limited bottles of Colonel Taylor in Louisiana either. Something tells me Taylor is an anomaly since they are a BT product but distributed by Glazers instead of Republic like all other BT products.

I think it's a mixed bag of both, the distributor holding onto the stuff in the warehouse in LA and them not getting from their national branch or whatever. Anyways I think we can all agree that this truly does suck. And that our physical stores don't get the bottles in till later than a lot of other states. We are lucky that we don't live in Oklahoma and some of those other states but definitely still get the shaft compares to Texas, Illinois, Arizona, Florida, New York, etc.
Let's just hope that there is enough of the good releases this fall that way we all get something.

ETL is Glazers as well if I am not mistaken. From my understanding Calandros didnt get any of the ETL this past time because their rep said they hadnt been getting enough/all of the Dickel so thats why he didn't give them any of the ETL

I'll take our allocations in Louisiana vs the number of people we would be up against to get bottles in the states that you mentioned.

Yeah I'm not sure what I would want more. We definitely don't have as many bourbon drinkers as some of those states, proportionally. But at the same sense, bourbon is still exploding and there are many new drinkers to it every month. And more people are wanting the rare bottles. And we are still not getting more of the rare bottles.
It's a trade off i guess. Shame we don't have a time machine though and we could just go back to the mid 2000's and clean up on all the bottles. Where's Doc Brown when we need him?

Don't need to go back that far. I have bought Pappy and BTAC off the shelf at retail and even left bottles behind at retail as recent as 2012 in Baton Rouge.

Blade and Bow is an amazing pour.
I bought a bottle after the tasting in Kentucky last weekend. I wish I could buy more around here.

Lol well in 2012 I still thought Makers Mark and Bulleit were high class bourbons. Didn't even know what Pappy and BTAC was back then. I remember I had got a bottle of Buffalo Trace around then and thought it tasted good mixed with my coke.

According to the Diageo rep, LA won't get any till next year. They don't have any available for us this year.
