I just saw a van winkle family reserve rye on the bx so I asked how much to see what they were trying to get. The seller wanted $375. If someone pays that for the one I just got I will do a happy dance.

I see it getting sold on BX pretty regularly. I bet you could get 250 all day. 375 sounds a little ambitious

I dont know what people are getting for Pappy 15 but I know ER17 and Stagg are both getting $150 each easily

Welp, I think I got pretty lucky. Got one for $130 shipped off the BX. Another guy wanted $200.
Did you get your bottle yet? Mine should be here tomorrow.

Have tried and liked Elijah Craig barrel proof. Found two bottles of EC 21yr on store shelf today.
Compared to the barrel proof, is the 21 that much better and worth the $135 price tag?

EC BP and EC 21 are two different beasts. With BP you are getting a full strength un-cut, un-filtered 12yr bourbon. BP has a great full flavor and finish with a hell of a kick! EC 21 is a more complex taste and finish you normally get with a 21 yr old juice. I would put EC 21 up there with any other 21 yr except pappy. Its much better then Jefferson 21 for about the same price.

I've yet to see one bottle of ECBP in Baton Rouge...

Exactly! 21 neat I really enjoy, already killed one of my bottles. I like the Bp too and for 49.99 it's a bargan. I only have 2 (for now) so I haven't had too much of it.

Yea you need to go back and get all of that.....
review below...
2008 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon (94 proof, $35, aged 13 Years) – A rich, golden orange color with the slightest tint of red, this richly colored bourbon is simply inviting. The nose is lighter than other bourbons of this age with nice sweet caramel , vanilla and butterscotch with the slightest hint of cinnamon. The entry is soft and sweet with distinct caramel and vanilla on the palate, then opening up with some fantastic spice. The sweetness from the opening returns, and the sweet and spice gracefully fade together in a superb finish. The 2008 isn’t as bold as the 2009 and is much more light and elegant than the 2010. At $35-$45 a bottle it’s an absolute steal as it drinks alongside bourbons more than twice its price.
2008 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon may be hard to find, but it’s still out there, and at the price point it’s a complete no-brainer. Even if it wasn’t so amazingly affordable, this delicious and delightful bourbon would still be worth seeking out. It’s a nice step up for people who love softer, sweeter bourbons and want to try something that will deliver more complexity and do it more elegantly. Very Highly Recommended

Thanks for the feedback....I'll go back and get a bottle. It was at a small liquor store in Katy that supposedly gets Pappy. I went looking to see if they had any, the guy said that they didn't and that when they do they sell it for way over the suggested price.
They had a good selection of stuff though that you can't get at the regular Specs, had Elmer T (which I need to go back and get), Jefferson Presedential 21, but it was $150. He said he is about to get some more very limited stuff soon.
