3 (and final) PD:

OWA107

I cannot believe how good this stuff is. I need to limit myself. What pisses me off, I see on “Bourbon Finder” on FB, some states have hordes of this stuff. People passing it up to buy ER or McKenna. Plus, I saw a guy grab two bottles of OFBB at Costco, and he said there was plenty left.
For some reason, GTSjr is the hottest thing going. Use to pass this stuff up like the plague.

Anyway, end rant. I didn’t lose a finger since last post. Here are the barrels:

#3

#4

And a couple coasters for my BIL (JP is his initials)

Ok, I lied!!!

4PD: swapped to the other side of the pond

Time for my next giveaway drawing. The remainder of the people that were in my last drawing are in the running. I’ll do the drawing in next couple days. I will take bribes if you want into the drawing.
Here is what I’m making. It will be one of my coasters, BUT I bought some epoxy and blue coloring. I’m going to completely drill out the coaster part of the coaster and put a crystal blue epoxy in it. I have zero clue what the frick I’m doing, it may come out like shite.

Plus, the winner gets a mystery prize (it’s not the bottle display I asked about on the OT). It’s something of zero monetary value, but I think it’s fricking awesome, and so will most in this thread.

Something like this but on a much smaller scale.

OWA107 does not stay on the shelves long in Nola.

GTSjr is OK. I made a veiled attempt to grab some at Elios but they were sold out. This River Ridge place is pretty cool. Staying on my radar.

OWA doesn’t even get on the shelves here in laffy, might not even get past BR

I’m interested to see how that epoxy trick works out

Once I’ve tried something and I didn’t like it, I never go back, even though I know it changes flavors year by year.

I have a batch 10 I might crack soon. 9 was hot but turned into a dark cherry masterpiece after a couple of months.

I think most of us ended up using Batch 1 as either charcoal starter or carb cleaner. Straight ethanol. I stuck my toe back into that water around 5-6 and it’s way better, but benefits from being open a couple of months and breathing.

I’ve enjoyed the WT Rare Breed at the beach all weekend. I bought one to see what all the fuss was about and have been pleasantly surprised. Pretty good pour.

Well, looks like my upcoming giveaway is a No-Go. I tried to make it, but the bottom of the stave is way too porous, and it’s nearly impossible to keep the resin in the hole.
