So I decided to get into Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch and rather than going to buy 100-200 bucks worth I figure a bottle every 2 weeks would be enough.

The first bottles I bought were Eagle Rare and a W.L. Weller. Good choices? What else should I be looking for under 35 bucks (maybe 50)

Those are both good entry bourbons... If you're Willing to drop about 55 go to Martin's and grab a bottle of blantons before it's gone. IMO it's one if the best bourbons out there at any price range.

get into Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch

Welcome to the board, whisky drinking/collecting is a great hobby.

You have a good start on the entry level Buffalo Trace mashbills there, which is where I would start for sure. I would seek out Old Weller Antique ($25-30)which is a definite upgrade from the WL Weller Special Reserve. I would try to locate an Elmer T Lee or Rock Hill Farms at retail ($35-50) to get a flavor for Buffalo Trace Mash bill #2. Knob Creek single barrel ($40) is a great representation of Jim Beam, especially store picks. Elijah Craig 12 yr ($25) is classic Heaven Hill, but the barrel proof is way better if you can find at retail ($60). Definitely try to pick up a Four Roses Single Barrel Barrel Strength store pick ($55_60). SAOS has great single barrel and store picks for around $55-60. Other than that, I would look for Weller 12yr BT wheated($35 retail, lol), Stagg Jr, EH Taylor Small Batch ($35-40) both BT #1 and generally store picks are a plus.

Stole this from a post I made earlier in this thread

I would recommend these 3 different bourbons to start with to help you identify which type of mashbill recipe you prefer.

1)Buffalo trace - low rye
2)Bulleit bourbon - high rye
3)Maker's mark - wheater

Each of these will have a unique flavor profile based on their recipe and will be a great stepping stone to figure out what you like and what you don't. From there you can naturally gravitate towards other similar bourbons

Each one of these can be found for around 30 bucks I believe and are just solid entry level bourbons.

Right, what I meant was I'm curious if there will be a line the morning of the 6th or if they will trickle out of there. I'm leaning towards there being a line and them being gone way sooner than later

Ehhh... Im sure it wont get dusty on shelves but idk if there will be lines at the gift shop. Never know these days though

I use to drink Makers/Crown/Jack exclusively before I switched to beer. However, from checking into this thread I was a novice at that.

Those are just so well marketed that most of the world only knows them (and j. Walker)...I think we have all been there. It wasn't until I was a law clerk in '07 that I was introduced to a Pappy 20 and began to understand there was a whiskey world past those 3 labels.

A picture you posted inspired me to look into one.
I have some stouts/porters (beer) that I plan on putting in it plus all of my beer glasses and glasses my grandmother gave me.
