Some of you might think I'm crazy for this opinion but for a cheap daily drinker, Jim Beam Distiller's Cut (not Devil's Cut) is pretty good. Especially considering the price. I saw it on the shelf for $18 and decided it was worth a roll of the dice at that price. Glad I did. I went back a few days later and bought 2 more. 5-6 years old, 100 proof, and non-chill filtered. I wasn't too sure after the first glass but it opens up nicely with a little air. The label says it is limited edition but who knows if that is bullshite or not. Has anyone else tried it?

Gonna look into that. I’m always looking for cheap daily drinkers.

My bachelor party...a three day trip down the bourbon trail!
Hey baws... thought I'd post some highlights from my pilgrimage through the bourbon state
Started with an old fashioned at 30,000 ft.
First distillery was Bulleit...
Stopped by the Evan Williams speakeasy experience....a really cool step back in time that featured some great bonded and cask strength bourbons
Then hit peerless.. the most ahead of the game and forward thinking distillery I have seen. I could start a whole thread on what these guys are doing!
The Jim Beam urban stillhouse...the urban stillhouse select which is exclusive to this location was pretty solid... a 100 proof non-chill filtered surprise! Also...there was bookers
The ever fancy woodford distillery
Four roses
The mighty buffalo trace...place was huge..like a bourbon disney world
Deep in country...Jeptha creed distillers. A family run place doing great moonshine and soon to be great unique corn bourbon
Makers Mark.. and their unique rickhouse carved into a limestone hill..in case you were wondering where 46 comes from
Some of the great pours I had at one of the coolest bars I've ever been to.. Mr. Lee's. Not pictured are a few different wellers and angels envy rye
If you're going to order an old fashioned here, make it an old fashioned served in a glass that's smoked over a piece of charred oak
A four roses single barrel on the way out

We had a great time there. The owners hung with us for over an hour. Their stuff is young but I think will be really good in the future using their heirloom Butcher Corn
Looks like yall had a great trip...

I was kinda bummed cause I saw your pictures, and put it on our map...turns out you only get to drink in the rickhouse if you book through mint julep. Still one of the best times I've had at a distillery...they are awesome people!

Looks like a solid trip!

I didn't know it was exclusive to Mint Julep but the attention to detail was very nice. They had the capital to invest money to make a good experience while waiting for the juice to get right.

I looked at them on Amazon ($13.95) and laughed at this review by someone from the OT:
quote:
my beef with this kit is the price. I get that it's a gimmick of sorts. A bit of a novelty. BUT you get two drinks with this "kit". Let's say you use this on an airplane as it is intended. A bottle of booze on a plan is what? $6? I don't know I never buy them cause they are expensive. But lets say $6. And this kit is $24?! So $12 for the booze and $24 for the kit making that two drinks for $36? Or $18 a piece. I'm sorry, but anyone who spends $18 on a single non-specialty-liquor old fashioned is likely so rich that they have no reason to carry this kit anyway. They have a private jet and a personal bartender. And hookers and blow.
;)

A pour for Mrs. Bush who faced life's end with a bourbon in hand. Rest well.

Been lurking here for the past few months and really this thread. Started becoming a huge whiskey/bourbon fan last year with my first bottle of blantons. Figured I'd shared my current collection and see what yall think. Cheers!
(had a 4RSB and a Weller SR too but finished those last month)
