I know... it should be 2 pours at least. When I went to open it the cork broke in half so it’s drink it all now or throw out what I do... I’ll hurt in the morning.
ETA.. it does look like this is. 2009.. no wonder the cork was bad. I didn’t realize I had this in the cabinet that long

After sipping on this I realize why I hadn’t drank it sooner... barrel proof bourbon gives me wicked heart burn. I’ll stick to blantons
and yes I’m a sissy

aint gonna read thru entire thread. what does board think of oban?
Oban is in a unique location, being in the Highlands and yet on the coast. It does have a mineraly, smokey, coastal side to it. It is not as smokey as the big Islay peaters. Becasuse of this it gets overlooked by some people chasing super smokey whisky. It is a sold pour I would rate about 86 out of 100.

Just got back home from visiting relatives and my GF (no pics) had this in my stocking. Will break it open tonight.

Oban is a good scotch. Not a whole lot of peat. I also think it's getting a little over priced. I just saw a bottle going for $120 the other day. I think it should be more in the $80-90 range. Although, costco has deals where it goes for $60 and I try to buy a few bottles when I see that.

I've never met a whiskey that I don't like. I will always love Irish whiskey, Bourbon, and scotch whisky. The past few years I've been really in love with really peated scotch whisky: Laphroaig, Arbeg, and Lagavulin; especially the cask strength versions.
