Probably not going to get it at Acquistapaces but it would be cool to have a Blanton's dated on their birth date. I'm looking for 3/31/2017.

Good suggestions there. Some of the Smooth Ambler Old Scout stuff might work too.

The Blantons idea sounds pretty good, just have to track some down for 4/28/17.

There is a guy on one of the Facebook groups that has a Blanton's sign up sheet where you list the date that you are looking for.

Whoa, just realized I've probably met you. I believe your coworker J.P., also a soccer fan, is a mutual friend. We've probably been to Finns together.

A guy named Will Larue runs the spreadsheet on Google Docs. Just search for Blanton's bottle date on one of the Facebook secondary pages.

Laphroaig Quarter Cask.

It's taking everything in me to appreciate these islays. I am literally watching Shetlands, a fictional crime series netflix original replete with Scottish maritime countryside footage.

The medicinal iodine smell just brings up so many shitty memories, but I am soldiering on.

ETA: I feel like I have to get a strong buzz before I start enjoying it. Maybe this is like learning all booze from scratch.

2PD

Glenlivet 15 French Oak

This is honestly fantastic. I would describe it as a Christmas scotch. It's a smooth, sweet flavor profile with a perfect cinnamon/nutmeg/clove spice to it. It's like someone made a holiday version of the 18 year old. I would highly recommend this as an example of how European oak can really hold its own against American oak in the right circumstances.
