Yeah you need to grab it. I kept reading all the praise. Then I finally bought one to try and fell instantly in love. It’s in my regular rotation now. That, EC barrel proof (which is my 2PD at the moment), high west, pinhook and 4 roses single barrel are my standard rotation.

Saias in Mandeville has a stack of 4R select. I just grabbed two, and I think there are 6 left.

Martin’s is the only one down here who carries it for some reason. I bought mine in Houston until someone on here told me about Martin’s

Ive never even seen blantons on the northshore.
But I dont really ever look for it either.
Going to have to stop by Saias and get some of that 4 roses. My neighbor likes it and they just found out they are pregnant

Alright MDS ..
This is a young barrel, you can tell my the nose, not a whole lot of depth but also not a lot burn. Palate, tons of cinnamon , vanilla. Tad of char, still no burn at all, very smooth.
I like it
I’d take this over a bottle of Blantons any day of the week.

Yeah I prefer it to Blantons as well. My pallet is not not refined enough to pinpoint the flavor notes, but I can tell when whiskeys are distinct from others. This WT stands out to me, and I like it plenty. I plan to open that weller 107 soon and compare to the WT. it’s been a while since I’ve had the 107, so I can’t honestly compare the two currently.
I do like Blantons, but getting a bottle is more about grabbing good juice that’s hard to find than anything else. Maybe I’m just tired of the BT line getting overhyped, but I now prefer other bourbons. Doesn’t mean I am not excited to get my hands on one when I can though

I love all of these higher echelon whiskeys mentioned on here but something about maker’s rocks is just delicious and my go to bourbon.

Yea it’s definitely young, unfortunately so is just about everything else being released these days because #Profits. Not too bad tho for what it is.
