Going down for a few days this week with boat in tow. We've enjoyed pulling up on the sand or tying up to pier to try out the local restaurants. Any tips on where we should go that arent tourist traps? Thanks

Cosmo's. The food us great and if you are there for happy hour, the drink and appetizer specials are awesome.

Pirate's Cove Marina & Restaurant claims to be the original site of Jimmy Buffet's Cheeseburger in Paradise. Take the Backbay entrance at Cobalt, (which has a boat dock) and around point of canal road. It is on the north side of the bay there.
Burgers and food are good. Maybe five places claim to be the site of the Cheeseburger Jimmy made famous.
Flippers is across the bay from Pirate's cove and there are others on Canal road across from PB.

Shipp's Harbour is my personal favorite.

Flippers has live music and the best sunset on the bay. Try the blackened chicken nachos...

How bout for raw oysters in the area? That's the pinnacle for me if I'm picking dinner.

You should really go to Blalocks at some point and plan a dinner wherever you're staying. King crab legs, steamed shrimp, blue crab cakes, baked and raw oysters...it's a market and while not cheap, it'll be your best bet guaranteed.

Haven't been in years but we used to enjoy The Oyster Bar. No one ever seems to mention it so it may have gone downhill.
The food and view used to be great.

Lulu's and the Wharf are tourist traps.
Pirate's Cove for burger and onion rings (don't go if you plan on ordering anything but that)
Louisiana Lagniappe is pricy, but good.
Big Daddy's on fish river.
Calypso is fair.
Tacky Jack's (Cotton Bayou) for breakfast.

Anchor bar and grill is in my top three of area restaurants.
Run by a couple from Lafayette.
Incredible food at reasonable cost.
