I always liked their Cuban sandwiches, but I never had anything else there.

I used to get sandwiches (ok, just The Gambler)

Sounds like you're a 1 sandwich/place kind of guy

The Cuban sandwich is good. My Cuban friend liked the other food offered there, so I guess that may be good, too. I've only eaten there twice and got the Cuban sandwich both times.

It's worth a shot

Guilty. If I find something I really like at a restaurant, it's usually all I ever get there.

I wish I'd tried more at Cafe Habana, though. I just never could eat those heavy lunches.

Idk if they are open for lunch, and I'm sort of hijacking this thread, but how is cafe habana?

Ive pimped Cafe Habana city a few times. Of the 5 or 6 cuban restaurants I've eaten at around the country, it's my top pick. No cuban expert, but everything I've had there has been on point.

Other than the black beans, I have no idea what that other stuff is. And damn, thats a lot of food - makes you wonder why there are no fat cubans.

I'll be in that area soon, also. Is the Cajun Muffalatta good?

Close plate: Black Beans, Rice, Cuban tamales, tostones (smashed and fried yellow plantains) + citrus dipping sauce

Far Plate: Moros y Cristianos (black beans and rice cooked together), Lechon Asado (roast pork) and sweet fried plantains.

Actual Cubans have no groceries, money or imported spices to eat this stuff. My boss went to Cuba earlier this year and reported back how terrible the food was. As he said, if you want to eat good Cuban food, go to Miami.

Yea, Gris, as bbrou said, it's good. However it's not on a daily menu. It's a Monday special I believe.
