Heading there Easter week for a little getaway with the family and some Axis deer hunting.
Where are some good places to eat/drink. Nothing fancy. I will have 3 kids under 6. Thanks.

Are there any left? The freeze killed a bunch of Axis, praise jesus. Go 20 minutes down the road to Comfort and eat at High Cafe and/or across the street at Comfort Pizza (have to order the day before). 20 more minutes you are in Boerne and Cibolo Creek Brewery has good farm to table food. The owner brews the beer and raises goats and other live stock he serves at the brewery. In Kerville, Pint & Plow has good pizza and decent beer. There is some other stuff in kerville I can't recall but maybe someone will chime in.

Yeah my guy said he lost quite a few. I've already taken off of work so I'm just gonna make the most of it. Hopefully we can still have a good time.

My limited experience n Kerrville was Pint & Plow. Cool spot... places outside for kids to move around.... i thought the food and beer was pretty good.

We enjoy Rails Cafe at the Depot. Get breakfast tacos at Mary’s tacos. Make a run to Alamo Spring cafe for burgers or roll out to The Camp Verde Store. The camel corp was stationed there.

Good luck on the axis hunt!

Breakfast at Rio Ranch Cafe is always good. Really good homemade tamales. Take scenic Highway 16 out to Medina to the Apple Store for cheeseburgers and cinnamon apple ice cream at their picnic tables.

Pier 27 River Lounge has good pizza, chargrilled oysters, fried seafood, cfs sandwich and shrimp/chicken pasta yaya. I think you’d be fine with children during lunch hours on the deck overlooking the Guadalupe. Dinner time does look more like a beer joint with live music and good food...which makes me feel like a kid again. Brown’s Drive In has good cheeseburgers. As mentioned, Camp Verde General Store and Alamo Springs Cafe are good stops. Good luck on your hunt.
