Rusty nail
Courtyard
Ave pub
Eta: these are where we usually end up
If you are really wanting cool atmosphere check out the pontchartrain rooftop bar although I'm not sure what time it is open

No better pace than POB's patio.

I always start my Nola day drinking at Molly's on Decatuer with a bloody mary.
Bounce to the Chartroom and Erin Rose if you want laid back drinking atmosphere.
If you are staying in the quarter, the options are unlimited. For a nicer place, Arnauds French 75 bar makes some damn fine cocktails.
