I just got one from them. The butcher said they got them on sale but don’t normally carry them.

Tri-tip tip. Take a picture of it before you season and cook it. Use that to slice against the grain when serving.

Yeah but you have to rub shoulders with the freaks that compose the regular shoppers at Trader Joe’s. At least the one in Metairie. It’s too bad, I like the store in general but want to strangle about 90% of the people that shop there. If NPR were a store that would be it.

Oh I refuse to go. I actually have a huge list of things they have right now that I want, but I can’t bring myself to go.

Maybe right when they open tomorrow or Monday.

Speaking of early morning the last time I was in the store was right before St. Patrick’s Day. Among other things, I was going to pick up some green flowers for our table. It was slim pickings, even early. I asked if they had not received a shipment and the cashier laughed at me. ??
He said you have to be there right when the doors open because retailers from around the city buy them out to resell them.
Unfortunately I haven’t found anywhere else that sells shishito peppers, among some other TJ’s items.

Apologize for the thread creep.

Yeah, Friday mornings and Saturday mornings there’s a line out front waiting for them to open. A lot of wedding coordinators use them for the weekend’s upcoming events. Then you have regular people who use them for baby shower, parties, etc.

My best friend shops there as her daily store is the only reason I know this. She went Friday when they opened last week think it would be better than her normal Saturday. It was even worse.

Sam’s, Albertson’s, Wal-Mart and Kroger all keep them stocked pretty regularly in Shreveport. Glad to see them becoming more mainstream, but u hate that they’ve gone up from $4.99 to $9.99/lb in some places. My favorite cut to smoke hands down

Iverstine's has them regularly, but call ahead as they usually only have 2 or 3 in stock.

JC's Butcher Block on Plank road in Slaughter/Clinton advertises them pretty often.
