Couldn't get to my normal spots in Lafayette and am now heading to Laplace for a family reunion....would like to stop and supplement what I already have if possible. Any good bottle shops/stores for craft and local in Laplace?

You could probably find meth and oxy easier than good beer in Laplace. Now if you need some andouille, you're in the right place.

Are you already in LaPlace or traveling there?

I recently found out that Laplace was French for The Place.

If you're traveling I-10 then an easy stop is Hokus Pokus at the Prairieville/Geismar exit. It's right off the interstate.

yep, the settlers came through looking for a place to build a town. they built milesville somewhere around the area of the golf course but the swamp mud wasnt stable and it sank into the ground, the whole town sank, so they moved to higher more stable ground which turned out to be just across the airline and the new town needed a new name to ward off bad luck by not using the old name.
it was said someone asked what to call it and they overheard someone say "this is the place to be" so they decided that LaPlace "the place" was a good name as any

LaPlace is named after Basile LaPlace.

In 1879, pharmacist, planter, and patent medicine purveyor[9] Basile Laplace arrived from New Orleans, and established a large plantation in Bonnet Carré. In 1883 he allowed the New Orleans and Baton Rouge Railroad to cut through his land.[1][9] The settlement's railroad depot was named after Laplace, then the post office, and eventually the town itself.
