Looking for legit hatch peppers to roast/freeze. Anywhere in the greater NOLA area sell actual hatch peppers?

There are other vendors out there as well, FYI.

Thanks. Thats the first place I stumbled upon when doing my own research but wasn't sure of the quality and how the price compared. You've ordered from them before?

Whole Foods and Trader Joe's both have them. Whole Foods will usually have the Prime member deal on them for super cheap.

A bunch. Good stuff. Three of my neighbors usually go in on an order with me and we get 10lbs. I think they have already frozen peppers as well but I've never ordered those.

Roberts usually has them for a few weeks in season. Not seen them yet.

They get a huge batch of them every year. I've even seen them set up one of those big cylinder roasters in front of their stores for them in previous years.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I had checked the Rouses by me last weekend and didn't see them, maybe I was early or just blind. Whole Foods was next on my list, and I completely forgot about Trader Joe's.

One of the few benefits of living in El Paso. When I lived there I'd drive up to Hatch and get a metric shite-ton of roasted hatch chilies then freeze them. Kept me stocked for the year.

I've bought a few 25# cases from Rouses over the last month, they only had "Mild".

I got a few 10# cases from Albertson's over the last month as well, they had mild and hot.

Both stores had good peppers. Buy I do recommend looking in the box before buying. I char mine on the grill and then toss them into a 5 gallon bucket with a lid to sweat while I roast the rest

Salsa Verde, Chile Rellenos, hatch pepper bacon cheddar cornbread. Thrown in any other dish like enchiladas, guac, queso, quesadilla's, etc. Mix into ground meat for burger patties, or sausage links/patties. Bacon wrapped stuffed peppers. I plan on pickling some as well.
