Looking to make some tacos and want to braise a beef tongue. Do I need to find a butcher or are there any markers that sell the tongue pre packages? Thanks!

Try Sam's if not there try one of those Mexican markets. Ideal should have it and possibly already marinated.

Marinate some thinly sliced tongue in coffee, garlic, S&P, and cayenne and braise it. C'est bon.

I was hoping to get one sealed. De-seed and boil some guajillo peppers then blend with some garlic. Add onion, oregano and bay leaves and some water. Braise it in that concoction for about 4 hours. My mouth is watering just thinking about it

got a couple at walmart in Thibodeaux They were only 5$ a lb and very good. I use mama's method of boiling them for a long time till ya can stick em with a 2 pronged fork and the fork slides out easily. Then they peel easily I had boiled them in cajun seasoning extra garlic and some Zaterains cragb boil They were amazing

I'd hit any of the Mexican mercados around town. That's where I'd expect to have the best chance of just walking up to the meat cooler and finding one ready to buy.
Other than that, any local butcher or local supermarket with a real butcher on staff should be able to get you one in a day or so with no problem.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Ended up hitting Ideal market off Sherwood. Will def be returning here. Tongue was frozen which is fine, but that place has everything and some extremely fresh produce!

The Walmart near my house sells them. I hit a sale at Rouses where they had them marked down to $1.19#, they normally $4.99. I bought 4 of them, I have 3 left in the freezer.
