When does a BLT become just a sandwich?

I’d say anything beyond adding an egg or avacado makes it go from BLT to sandwich.

Adding turkey makes it a turkey sandwich with bacon, lettuce, and tomato.

I know A BAT sandwich might not sell, but How many sandwiches advertise tomato and lettuce without bacon?

Once they aren’t the main ingredient I feel Like they’re back to topping/dressing status

I don't disagree. I do think that a BLT does have a different level of bacon that is assumed is with the sandwich, more than it would be if it was just a topping.

Now, if this sandwich just had like two strips of bacon on it, then yea calling that a BLT is absurd. If it didn't have the turkey and avocado and would still be considered a legit BLT, then I can see the rational behind how they labeled it.

I have this same rant/argument about grilled cheese

What’s the difference between a “grilled cheese with bacon” and a “bacon and cheese melt/panini”

this was brought up by a friend wanting to go to a food truck that made “gourmet grilled cheese” but to me it was just a hot sandwich shop

I thought any 2 meats and you have a club sandwich? Maybe I made that up...maybe you need that middle bread to be a club.

People know what I mean Because almost every ingredient is listed
