When did Sammy’s Grill get shitty?

Changed ingredients and preparation methods on staple menu items
Menu items removed
Skimpy portions for higher prices
Super sterile environment
No drunk judges propping up the bar
Hadn’t been in a while, did the boiled seafood mobs just kill everything that made the restaurant good?

When I worked there, the wait staff was predominantly Tiger Girls, LSU Cheerleaders, and other assorted fine hoes from the quad. Good times.

Maybe the addition of Twin Peaks and Walk On’s disrupted the pretty girl trend of servers there. Or do pretty girls no longer work at restaurants?

It was great in 05-08, but I agree, the place has gone way downhill. I'd never thought I'd say I'd rather go to Geroges across Staring then Sammy's

White beans, a serious response here
Been going to Sammy’s steadily as a staple for the last 9 years. In the last 1-2 years, I have seen a noticeable decline in quality. A lot of the same items you mentioned above.
Onion rings are salty as shite now
Grilled shrimp Poboy is made with small arse shrimp
Waitresses are butt ugly
Etc
Crawfish are still legit.

Even dirt George’s is preferable I agree.
George’s always had better sandwiches which is all that matters bc the non-sandwich items at sammy’s are gross now
