We usually do the usual (gumbo, pot salad, etc) or the big Holliday potluck.

Since we’ve started hosting at our house: last year was brunch/breakfast.

This year I got a whole tenderloin. Gonna Sous Vide it and sear off. Horseradish mashed potatoes, roasted veggies. Rest of the fam will bring other apps, sides and desserts.

A elderly friend (93 yo) of mine with no family was brought to the ER and admitted to the hospital with congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and dehydration yesterday. So I will be spending the holiday weekend and Christmas day in the hospital with him. Therefore my Christmas menu will be at the mercy of the hospital cafeteria. yum.

Cougar Gold®
Our most famous & popular cheese! Winner of several national and international awards. A rich, white cheddar with a smooth, firm texture. This unique cheddar has a depth and intensity that most people have never before experienced. Its creamy, lingering flavor will leave you wanting for more! Our current stock of Cougar Gold is just over one year in age. Buy 2 and store one for aging, as it becomes more sharp and crumbly with age, developing crystals throughout, which can give it kind of a crunch.

Christmas Eve is just the wife and I. I used to do a gumbo with Thanksgiving turkey leftovers (frozen of course). Lately I’ve been doing Italian. This year will be cicken parm. I’ll have some old fashioneeds and open a nice bottle from one of our Napa trips.

Christmas family comes over. I usually either grill a turkey or tenderloin. This year we got a Turducken from Chris’ market. Never had one and want to try it.

I’ll also do baked macaroni, mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuits and cranberry. The turducken has stuffing.

I also usually bake pecan pies but feeling lazy this year. We’ll get one already made.
