We love the winter lineup. Deer chili, gumbo, shrimp and corn soup, roast. Favorite is probably the roast (deer neck when we have it, beef chuck otherwise). It's also smoking weather for me, did a picnic roast Saturday, great time for ribs and butts and burgers.

This here. Also white beans with cornbread cooked in cast iron skillet. Same cornbread for chili and soup, too.
Big, big cornbread fan here.

We just did a chicken pot pie soup. It is basically the filling with no pie crust. We had a biscuit with it.

King Ranch Chicken casserole is always a good one for those cold weather days.
