I'm genuinely curious what you don't like about it? If you like thick crust or overflowing heavy sauce I can see why you don't like it. There's not a place I've come across that puts more meat on a pizza.
And no pizza I've come across even comes remotely close to touching the shrimp and crab pizza. It's no contest.

Some people don't like a pizza with overloaded toppings
The reason you like it is the reason I think it's trash

1 Pizza shouldn’t cost $40.

Fair point. We all have different preferences.

For Lunch, don't miss out on TARC on the East Side of Houma on the Airbase. They have aome of the plate lunches around as well as your everyday po-boy shop items. Which to me they have one of the best roast beef po-boys around.
C'est Bon on the East Side is really good
Bayou Cane seafood has good boiled seafood.
I also think West Main is trash. Crust is carboardie, no sauce and way to much toppings. Last time I was in there 15 years ago a lady walked in and got 2 large pizzas to go, her bill was over $80, for 2 large pizzas!

It's just a personal preference but they put too much toppings on the pizza
If I want a lot of meat I'll eat a steak or a burger or something where the meat is the main portion of the dish. A good pizza is more than just toppings. If toppings make the pizza then the pizza itself sucks IMO

This thread made me do an image search to see what all of this topping talk was about.
Agreed. That’s ridiculous.

Last time I ate in Houma was pre-Ida at Cajun Critters. It was very good.
Ida was a bad storm and Houma got slammed. No idea how that shook things up on the food scene.

Cajun Critters moved into a new place, about a half mile from where they were but the food is still good. They do get very busy.

I forgot about redfish pizza. Still my favorite pizza. As many here are saying, I never got the appeal of west main.

Taco Pizza at West Main is awesome!
We order mixed beef/pork, no onions, hot (sauce)
DO NOT CARRY OUT…the thin , crispy crust is part of West Main’s greatness. It will get soggy if carried out due to all the toppings.
Song Phi Nong
Spigots
Bayou Delight for fried chicken
Best Bakery has awesome French bread
Watergrill for poboys

Breakfast at Downtown Jeaux is really good. Best beignets and some tasty breakfast sandwiches.

I go to West Main every time in Houma, along with Cinnamonster in Southland Mall. As others have said, the prices at West Main are insane. I understand they put a lot of toppings, but no toppings are worth that much. Some of their specialty pizzas are over $50 for large. I can get a large triple pepperoni from Dominos, that has just as much pepperoni, for under $10.

Agree with all of this except Watergrill, no one in my immediate family really cares for it, but by in laws love it.
Here's my top non-chain places to eat in Houma.

Herradura
Heberts
Boudreaux And Thibodauxs
Cristiano
Ceanas (in Dulac)
Bayou Blue Poboy
Redfish Pizza
Song Phi Nong
Big Mike's
Danny's Fried Chicken
Taco Stand across from EAst Houma Library
Danny's Fried Chicken
Peppers
Cajun Critters
Big Al's
Spigots (has good beer too)

Okay, back home now. While in Houma I tried 1921 Seafood and got some duck strips and boiled crawfish. This is a very cool place with a hole-in-the-wall feel but is really decent-sized though squeezed into a smaller place. The duck strips were cooked perfectly, the crawfish had a different flavor than what I am used to - like if it has a lot of black pepper mixed into the boil. It's a good flavor to me. The crawfish were small. It's February. But I just got some crawfish in Alexandria from Hotheads that were a much better size. Still, it's early. I'll definitely go back to this place next time I'm in Houma.
On my second night, I went to West Main Pizza. I like pizza with lots of toppings. But I can definitely see why this place is polarizing. The staff is friendly and it has a neighborhood restaurant feel. As to the pizza, well, it reminds me of Mr. Gatti's pizza. The crust was kinda thin, not completely cooked and the toppings were exactly what I would have expected at Gatti's. This stuff will not satisfy fans of all the brick oven, crispy crust, newer pizza places with, frankly, better pizza. I got their deluxe/supreme (can't remember the name) pizza and enjoyed it. But, I'm not difficult to please. I can think of many places that have better pizza, but few with that kind of atmosphere. You'd think I was a regular the way the staff interacted with me.
On my third day, I stopped at Herradura for lunch. I ordered something I should have known better than to order (steak) and they cooked it poorly. I don't think that one experience is a fair indication of their food, but I also am not likely to seek them out again.
I wanted to go to Song Phi Nong for dinner but it was Thursday and that place was packed. The parking lot was full. So, I went to Big Mikes BBQ. I had gone to the one in Thibodaux on Wednesday for lunch and wanted to try something different. The Thibodaux location is better in every way that I could tell. The ribs I got were cooked well but I probably won't visit that location again.
Thanks for the recs.
