I was trying to think of what could be served with smoked chicken wings as the main dish. I know technically I could serve any bbq side, but I was thinking of what would pair with wings, not bbq. Some wings may have a hot sauce and some may have a bbq sauce or even something else.

So far, I thought of these options: mac n cheese, twice baked potatoes (or loaded potato casserole), collard greens.

I think those would be good, but still trying to see if there’s any other option I’m not thinking of. Any thoughts?

Choose your 2-3 favorite bbq sides and go to town.

Toss them in Buffalo sauce and add a side of ranch/blue cheese and celery/carrots

I’d do celery and carrots tray with dip, and a homemade smoked Mac and cheese. Could do bacon wrapped asparagus, pasta salad, potatoe salad or even just a side salad!

Cole Slaw

With a vinaigrette dressing instead of mayo based dressing. Add peanuts.

To the slaw.

Why not another side you would eat with your hands, potato skins or sweet potato fries.

You are looking for some grand unique side, but the reality is that you should serve Mac n cheese or potato salad. Keep it simple.

First two that came to my mind were mac and collards. That would be a damn good meal.

I’m leaning towards smoked mac and collards. The quantity I have to cook for and the method of cooking factors into the decision as well. But I love hearing all the ideas. All good suggestions, some reaffirming my thoughts and others introducing new ideas.

Great suggestions, thank you, everyone (except the one classy rocket scientist).

Fat content is high in wings. I like to counter with a cucumber salad or something similar. I don't come to eat beans or noodles when I am crushing smoked wings. They are my favorite.

As far as sauce I’d go with Alabama white sauce.
