The Reuben is the perfect sandwich IMO.
Individually I don't care for most of the ingredients but the combination is near perfection.

Depends on what kind of sandwich you're making as to what makes it perfect.
Last night, I made one with pan seared shrimp seasoned with smoked hot paprika and smoked salt, sliced avocado, thin center cut bacon, arugula and mayo mixed with Cochon Butcher's sweet potato hot sauce on toasted Ciabatta bread. It was pretty darn good except the Ciabatta was a little heavy. I took out some of the center of it. I like it better on lighter bread like Liedenheimer's or Poupart's, but it was a fine sandwich.

Ciabatta is good for some things. It can be a little heavy. It's sort of a flat loaf, but dense.

These people with the Bunny bread, does yo' mamma cut the crust off for you?
A good fresh bread with a real crust, 1st class ingredients, Boar's Head cold cuts for example, and tasty condiments.
A reuben, a muff, a hoagie all great when dome right. I love almost any mustard, Zat's Creole is my favorite. I like to make a spicy remoulade and keep it in the fridge for sandwiches, very tasty.

If you get a rueben, get it with deli or hot mustard. Skip the Thousand Island, it looks like someone already ate it.

where should i get one in BR?
Posted on 3/25/12 at 7:54 pm to Wooly
Wooly, I don't live in BR any more, but my friends say that the Truly Free deli on Perkins has a good reuben, but you have to cut the Thousand Island.
I make the world's fourth greatest reuben. I slow cook the corned beef and cabbage, serve it, then use the leftover corned beef for the reuben. Homemade hot mustard too.

I saw Giada make a panini with pound cake, nutella and sliced strawberries. Looked like a pretty good sandwich to me.
