I go through about a dozen a week

I just go with the standard grocery store brand

I watch these YouTube videos and see some of the most rich looking yolks that I've ever seen. Is that really making a difference in relatively basic applications like breakfast or baking?

Is my egg game all wrong?

Been having chickens for years. Fresh eggs are the best. Can’t remember the last time I bought eggs. Visit a farmers market and get some fresh yards eggs, you’ll see the difference. A friend of mine also has ducks. Those eggs are the best for baking. A local bakery buys all he can provide them with.

Usually cheapest generic eggs.

One of my baws has yard eggs and i get them every couple months. The yolks look much brighter but flavor wise I cant tell much difference

I can agree with this. I've had duck egg creme brulee, and it was very good

Thanks for the input. I'm not paying triple for eggs all for the Gram.

when my neighbor doesn't have them, I buy them for $5/dozen from the local organic farm

not sure how much regular store bought eggs anymore because I haven't bought them in ages, so don't know how much 3x would be...

but my point is that you could easily find a "non retailer" that would gladly sell you eggs as most people with chickens get more eggs than they know what to do with

I just get the 2 dozen carton from Costco when I need eggs. Granted, I've had free range yard bird eggs from friends who raise chickens and those are by far much better as far as quality and color of the yolks----being much richer looking.

After the wife retires and we sell our house in the city and move rural, I'll have chickens and ducks and won't need to buy eggs.

I get some fresh raised from a guy I work with. They definitely have a creamier taste to them.

My neighbor has yardbirds and she sells a dozen eggs for $2, cheaper than the store and much better eggs.
