yes, I cringe, squirm and cry.

nothing will make me feel any better about that stupid arse op's post and food shows overuse of that word except a couple of platters of boiled crawfish and fried oysters,,

my favorite proteins.

eta: stupid arse op,, are we meeting for lunch today or not?
If not, I need to take a package of bloney out of the freezer.

does anyone else cringe when foodie shows and restaurant menus overuse the word "protein"? It reminds me of chemistry class...
sorry, Tea Sipper. I shouldn't have used such intimidating language....let me get on your level..."What hunk o' meat do you like to eat the best?"

Yes, Geauxt. I'm buying your lunch. Charge up Trigger for the trip into town. My shift of stacking buggies at County Market ends just before noon so I'll be looking for you then.

Beef. Specifically prime bone-in ribeyes. The skirt steak with skin at La Boca is creepin up the ladder tho, currently sitting at #2. I will be enjoying it tonight.

Seafood because of the diversity of things availible in that category. The next notch is Lamb, then beef.

When I group think about beef I group think about cheeseburgers, hamburgers steak, beef tenderloins, steak, tacos, stuffed bell peppers, spaghetti, lasagna, short ribs, long ribs, rib roasts, pot roasts, briskets, and that sort of thing. I group think fondly of other meats (proteins) too. But I group think if I had to choose only one, I wouldn't have to group think too long about my decision. Give me the sacred cow.

Bison.

There is a bison farm a few minutes from my house, and their meat tastes nothing like the stuff you can find at the store (bison). The best single cut I've ever had was a massive ribeye from them.

Chicken.
Growing up in New Iberia it was seafood but up here in Shreveport all of the seafood is frozen. Just doesn't taste the same.

The wife's favorite is beef. But oddly she prefers lean ground beef...pasta w/ meatballs, grilled hamburgers, meat loaf. She's not that fond of steak.
