Baker Farms Popcorn rice
Got some inlaws from that family. We get bags of that rice for Christmas every year. It's good stuff..

Is my memory right that Popcorn rice comes from somewhere up in the MS Delta? Seems like there was a family there that grew it. We would buy it when we lived in Cleveland, MS.
Useless information. We lived in Cleveland, MS (circa 1975) during the days I worked for Baxter, Laboratories, in their LVP plant there. There was a Riceland Rice processing plant in Cleveland in those days, that I visited. Interesting place. Then one day, it blew up. To say it was like a bomb going off was not very descriptive. Killed a couple of folks I think. Needless to say, rice dust can be very explosive. I think a spark set it off.
Anyhow, Popcorn rice is very good stuff.
I'm not sure I ever said that I regret not meeting you that day. Maybe sometime when we drive past Rayville, I'll stop and stand in the street yelling out your name until they put me in jail and I can at least say I tried harder than the first time.

MD, the Baker Farms rice (and other products) is from Gueydan LA. Elton Kennedy's rice, the 4 Sister Brand that got smeared on page 1, is from Mer Rouge LA, which is up here in the LA side of the delta. Both real good products.
Next time you're around Rayvegas holla. We'll meet up at Sonic. For tater tots, not fistacuffs

I never had a fork of rice that wasn't great! Probably the cook and not the rice. Some folks never learn they can't cook....

I think I broke my personal downvote record with that one but it's damn good rice.
