I hate watching the wait staff work at an inefficient pace.

Children. If they can't behave and you can't muzzle them, leave them crated up at home.

They are trained to ask if you want an appetizer.. I figured that would be common sense.

Mostly it is at the chains. Yes they are robots and are taught to upsale everything, but don't come right behind me 5 seconds after my arse hits the seat trying to push spinich and artichoke dip on me.

People (being generous here, they really are subhuman) who blow their nose at the table. The sound some of them make must be practiced!

I wish they would stay the frick home or go to The Red Lobster or IHOP but their manners may not be acceptable even at these fine establishments.

When they drop the bill off and run away....I always have my card ready and they run off and disappear when I just want to gtfo. Is it that hard to drop the bill and take it in one turn. I don't need to look at the bill for ten minutes to see if it's right.

Wine recommendations from a server before I have even looked at the wine list. I will ask for assistance if desired, but in all likelihood I probably know more than any of them anyways.

And people who order bottles of wine without assistance and upon receiving the bottle they decide the wine is "bad" when in all honesty it is just their palate and the wine is exactly like it should be. At least I get a nice bottle of wine to drink myself when this happens.

And Doc, my grandfather is one of those people that will blow his nose at the table. Makes me cringe in shame when it happens.

What Ms. Wiggles said about children. I am also diabetic and drink unsweetened tea plain. I hate when they accidentally refill me with sweet tea.

Of course, but not right when you sit down.

I had a funny experience with a server at a Copelands a few weeks ago. He was very raw and has probably been taught number #1 that he needed to speak proper English. So we really was throwing his words together to try and sound more sophisticated than he was and it was just down right funny.

There were some funny moments involving a beer and a glass of wine, but the best was him trying to sell us on the spinch dip. He said the chef cooks it down and then does something and then "finishes" it with parsley.
Yeah, I can see the "chef" back there going to town on cooking a spinich dip.

My pet peeve is overfilled salt and pepper shakers, especially pepper. Nothing will come out.

Service related only, when the server cannot clearly describe the special or I have to prod them to tell me what the special is. Shows me they were sleeping or farting around during preservice, or maybe they just don't care. Either way, it's inexcusable to not sell the special.

I don't get too bent out of shape unless service is really bad or the food isn't prepared properly.

I don't like ice cold butter with warm bread.

Don't pick up someone's plate when everyone at the table hasn't finished the meal.

I'm with Mrs. Wiggles on the tea. If I'm having that with lunch, I get it just right and someone is trying to refill it when it's not nearly close to being empty. I've put my hand over the top of the glass on many occasions trying to protect my glass. My Mom does the same thing when she sees the pitcher headed in her direction. Ask me first.

Maybe there's a 12 step program for nose blowers.....

Too late for him to learn differently, at least he didn't pass that gene along to you.

I am 38 and have type 2. Diagnosed at 18 when I was not overweight. My mom and daughter both have it and they are both 5'8" 125-135 pounds. Type 2 runs in our family and being the correct weight does not eliminate it.

Loud people and parents who don't control their children.

Wow, that really jogs a memory from the 70s. I was a young married guy with a 3 y o son. We went to Steak and Ale. Son had a fit. I took him out and laid down the law in stern terms. We came back in and an elderly gentleman sitting next to us got up to leave and said to me: "Sir, I admire you teaching your child to behave." He then turned to my son and said "You've got a great dad."

These days I would probably be arrested for child abuse.
