I believe DQ also makes something similar... used to be called a Mr.Misty back in the 80s, but now it's a different name.

Don't know about LA, but they were always in Country Cupboard convenience stores around here... which are no longer around.

Chateau supermarket was another good place for SP. Had my bike stolen out front while making one inside once. It was tough in them streets.

My wife had no idea what a slush puppy was. I took her to the br state fair one year and they had them there. I was pumped.

you gotta have the old school machine where the ice was plain and you had to add the flavor after it was in your cup

This is the only way to go. The pre-mixed stuff is crap.

Rally's also used to have them back in the day. I went to a Rally's a few years ago just to see if they still had them and the gal working had no clue what I was talking about.


ETA: Last Slush Puppie I ever had was at the bowling alley in Houma. That was probably about 10 years ago.

I still remember the first time I had slush puppy. The choice of Flavors beyond "cola" and cherry put the icee machine to shame.
