It really surprised me. Reminds me of much more expensive Rieslings from the Clare Valley in Australia. Great wine for Louisiana and spicy Asian cuisine

Josh is indeed a good wine at that price.

I had Earthquake Cabernet at approx $26 a bottle recently.

My neighbor gets his wine from Michel-Schlumberger, and he gave me a bottle of Syrah, which was good.

Otherwise, Perfect Union has been enjoyed as a good blend of late. $22 a bottle at Philippe's in Laffy.

Mangria, an Adam Carolla concoction MAngria
quote:

Adam Carolla’s Signature Mangria opens up with aromatics of plum, cherry, blackberry and orange along with a generous fruit flavor. Mangria is best served over ice & great for any occasion and with 20.9% alc, it has the right amount of kick!
Tasting Notes: Aromatics of plum, cherry, blackberry and orange along with a generous fruit flavor. Mangria is best served over ice & great for any occasion
From what I understand it has vodka in it??? NOT available in LA at this point. Got mine from a friend in California.. May sound like trash but if you try it YOU WILL BE A FAN... Great tasting with a helluva kick.

2010 J Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley. It was around $30 from Marcello's in Laffy.

Bunch of wines from Pedernales and Hilmy from Fredericksburg, TX.

I've had a few nice reds...can't ever keep the names straight.

Take a pic with your phone or type the names in notes section if you can. That helps me.

I had the Crooked Mayor-named for Ray Nagin at Flemings the other night. Not a bad wine but I just don't like for some reason people that just buy the wine and slap their label on it. Just kind of feels like cheating. Then they have an artist friend painting the labels so all they are really is salesman.

The guys cell phone number is on the cork.

Gotta sell it somehow. They only distribute to Louisiana, NYC, Philly and PIttsburgh.

I think its pretty cool that a Louisiana-Born/Educated artist paints labels for them.

Anywho, to each his own. I like to support Louisiana folks, even if they leave to chase a dream.

Also buy Zuchichi when at some restrnts n Nola. Several of my surgeon buddies dont like him, but its "local" support.

I had a 78 Lafite over the weekend. It was pretty good. Also had a 95 Krug and an 84 Montebello, which was my wine of the weekend.

I understand that and I like the wines and as you said the local artist is nice. I just buy a lot of boutique wines and really like the guys that will just go buy grapes and start building wines themselves. Get your hands on any Modus Operandi. They are phenomenal small batch wines. I've got two or three bottles of only one barrel made. Great stuff. And get some Shypokes as well.

Calandro's carries the Modus Operandi Vicarious. It's a great wine made by Jason Moore who is a young winemaker doing some great stuff. You can order his others online but they won't ship for at least another month until it cools off.

2011 Saldo Zinfandel

2009 (Napa Valley) Franciscan Magnificat

2009 Robert Mondavi (Napa Valley) Cab. These are always consistent and not terribly expensive.

2010 Napa Cellars (Napa Valley) Cab.

Don't knock it, but the Menage a Trois white blend that has a little Moscato in it is awesome for a day at the park or patio. It's cheap too.

The Saldo is an Ordin Swift with Dave Phinney. Nice. Try to get your hands on a Mercury Head. Very nice. He also did the Prisoner and Pappillion both which you can find and both nice wines.

Try a Mollydooker.
