Fried shrimp poboy used to be my favorite. Guy's is now my favorite w/ Domi's a close second.

Been there once.

Had a shrimp and a RB.

Will never go again.

Pissed me off severely when they beat Parkway on food wars. The deciding vote was Tracy Porter and he chose Dom's because of the sauce. How retarded is that? Ketchup and hot sauce made up your mind for you? Do me a favor and keep eating Dom's so there is more food for me at Park.

Thanks for the interception, btw.

Not to mention it's hard to have a "blind" taste test if one has ketchup and hot sauce and the other doesn't. Completely retarded.

The g/f and I were too hungry so we split a large shrimp po boy. I thought it was very unique, as I have never had a hot sauce, ketchup, mayo mixture on a sandwich before. That combo was quite good. The bread was holding back the sandwich; room temperature bread with nothing done to it. Would have been better if the bread was warm or toasted. We were one of two tables in the restaurant so wait time wasn't an issue...I guess b/c it was closing.

Overall, I would eat again if I was in the area. Definitely not on the same level as Johnnys though

Wait, you have never had mayo, hot sauce and ketchup on a shrimp po'boy?

I eat that on my shrimp po'boys almost every time. All depends on my mood and where the sandwich is from.

Try it on a quality po'boy from parkway. The po'boy alone is amazing then when you add the sauce that Dom's is known for, ketchup and hot sauce, (like it's some great fricking invention) it is simply amazing.

Do yourself a favor and go try it soon.

A bunch of haters in here. My favorite standard shrimp poboy in the world. I crave it every time I go there.

My favorite poboy is honestly the fried green tomato shrimp poboy at Ye Olde College Inn

You honestly believe that Dom's is better than all the other top places? I don't mean with ketchup and hot sauce while the others are just dressed. I mean both straight up.

Doesn't Doms use deli Roast Beef with Gravy made from a mix on its poboy?

Not sure but that's what it tasted like to me. Hell I would prefer Saia's in Mandeville over Dom's any day.

Actually Saia's isn't bad.

Dom's definitely gets by on reputation and tradition, but it's not as terrible as haters make it out to be. It's also nowhere nearly as good as tradition, and bullshite shows like Man vs Food make it out to be. I'd go when the line's not too long, but it's not worth waiting an hour for. Give me parkway any day, or Guy's

Without ketchup? That's a part of how they make the poboy. You can't just remove that. Now that' different from adding, let's say, fried green tomatos or a major ingredient like that. You can't count those. If they want to create their own type of sauce mixture, I can accept that.

Without hotsauce? that's how I eat ALL of my poboys (lots of hot sauce as well), so that can't be removed either. It's a constant variable.

Yes, I think their shrimp po-boy is better than at least Mahoney's, Guy's, Crabby Jack's, and Tracey's/Parasols. Admittedly, I haven't eaten a lot of poboys downtown.

But it's not a secret/special sauce. You can get a far better poboy and add your own ketchup to it.

I know its just ketchup. But I don't go around messing with peoples original creations. That's like putting A1 on a steak. You eat it the way they give it to you....with the some exception being hot sauce. That's a universal given.

Yeah, I could go to another restaurant and out ketchup on it but use honestly never tried. And I don't know that it'd be better

No order.

R&o's
Guy's
Casamento's, not a "po-boy", but great.
Parenton's on a buttered toasted bun, again not a po-boy.

Parenton's on a bun ? I've only had it on French and it's damn good.
