La Fonda is Tex Mex bro. Those places are a dime a dozen in these parts.
Judice Inn, same thing. A greasy hamburger. It's pretty damn hard to screw that up. We have the same thing here, (or used to at least) - it's called Dearman's. At least you get hand cut fries with your burger there. And the hamburger steak plate with fries and gravy to dip them in beats the shite out of Judice Inn.

Why would you make fries if you’ve been making a fortune without them, don’t have space to prepare them, and their customers don’t give a shite?

If you think La Fonda is about Tex-mex, you’ll never understand.
It’s about consistency and tradition. People have been raised on it for multiple generations. The margaritas are great, you always see old friends. The steaks are excellent. Fried rabbit is good. There’s a few other things that are decent.
They’ll keep pulling in a couple million dollars a year, whether or not you like it, if they don’t change the formula.

The OP was about restaurant's you feel are overrated. If you think La Fonda is good, bully for you. I think it's overrated garbage.
