All alone. Leftover smoked turkey sandwich, crab salad and a pice of fruit cake for dessert. :)

Raw oysters and pickled quail eggs. Oysters are salty and delicious.

Downvote me if you want, but fruitcake is gross and should not be in the dessert category. BTW, I enjoy your posts

Drove to Lafayette to meet the in-laws for an early dinner at Charley G's.
Everything from the service to the wine to the food was incredible.
We started with mini crab cakes and tuna tartar.
I ordered the Special for my entree. It was grilled black drum over a fried puree of eggplant (I can't remember what they were called but they were basically creamy eggplant fritters) and manchego corn grits with pork belly over a red pepper coulis, all topped with a crawfish sauce. It was to die for.
Great bottle of a light-bodied red for the table. For dessert we split gingerbread creme brulee and Snickerdoodle cheesecake.
