Still cleaning out the deep freeze, so I steamed some tamales.

We had pork, beef, and black bean & corn.

Spicy and delicious.

Barramundi, sautéed peppers, lemon butter romanesco, artichoke lemon orzo

I don’t know why I make these big plates I eat half of, but I do it every time.

That looks amazing, LL.

I can't wait until this move is over and I can cook again.

Dear Friend,

Delicious! Would it be imposing if Mother and I were to join you for dinner? IT appears that you are in a restaurant, judging by the plastic straw in the water. If we do join you, please hide the plastic straw before Mother sees it. She is very particular about plastic straws.

Mother and I had a lovely trip to Sam's and Walmart today. Much was uncovered. Much was learned. Much is still being digested.

As I had a late lunch, early dinner for me, like you, is a large salad, made mostly of items purchased from today's journey. Exciting news must be shared -- Grandfather's first tomatoes were picked today. After asking God's grace and favor, we cut them and added them to the salad. They are sublime.

My inspiration for tonight's salad was the Italian salad from Tower of Pizza on Veterans, arguably the best salad in New Orleans. But they are increasing its price more and more. It was $13.75 for a large, and I always get two large salads there because they are so good. Instead of peppers, I chose to include Great Value heart of palms. Other ingredients included Members Mark bottled artichoke hearts, fresh mozzarella, grated Parm cheese, fresh basil from the garden, chopped, anchovies, salt, extra virgin olive oil, and Wishbone balsamic vinaigrette, as our Lebros Restaurant dressing was all gone, all blended with Romaine lettuce. It is a delicious snack.

May those who celebrate Vespers do so solemnly and with a joyful, penitent heart. God's blessing on all these meals tonight and you.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Work function at Sullivan’s, Baton Rouge. A retirement party but sadly not mine. Forgot a photo of the appetizers, spicy shrimp egg rolls and mini crab cakes. A wedge salad, after I cut off the end and before the waitress showed up with the black pepper, a ribeye, garlic mashed potatoes and cheesecake for dessert. I brought my wife home about half of the steak and the cheesecake. :)
