Getting rid of misc things in the fridge, center cut pork chop, red potatoes, pita bread, onions and some fresh green onions sausage. Whipped up a small red wine reduction sauce too.

Decided to fire up the open wood fire grill

Round steak from my parents cattle. Making beef, potatoes, and vegetable soup on a rainy afternoon. The quality of beef of lower cuts of meats is so much better from the home pasture than the local grocery store.

right on about this
there’s a home rancher that sells meat at the Hammond farmers market (beef and goat) and that’s all we eat now

today I grilled flanken cut ribs and a picahna roast and they were both so beefy it took me by surprise

You forget what beef is supposed to taste like

Thai red curry soup with meatballs, straw mushrooms, carrots. Spicy and gingery. Probably more appropriate for fall.

My husband doesn’t like Thai food, so his meatballs were baked in Sweet Baby Ray’s, with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob on the side.

We both had cantaloupe.

t00f, I saw your comment about my tortilla pizzas, but it was too late after the fact to respond. Yes, I have them too often. They are just my go to when nothing sounds good because I can vary the kind of sauce and the toppings. My husband rolls his eyes, as well.

Threw a pork roast in the oven, big white limas with last week’s ham bone, rice, gravy, Mac & cheese, slaw and biscuits. Fed my bartender. :)

Sorry, no recipe, I just winged it.

I sautéed some of the trinity until softened, but not browned, along with some sliced carrots and red bell pepper, and some fresh ginger. I thought I would be adding fresh mushrooms, but they’d gone bad, so I used canned, rinsed, straw mushrooms.

I added two heaping tablespoons of Mae Ploy red curry paste (from a tub in the fridge), one 8.5 oz box of chicken stock, and one can of coconut milk.

I’ve never used meatballs in this kind of soup, but that’s what I had, frozen, from Costco.

Other additions as I was fiddling with it:

A squirt of ginger from a tube, two squirts of garlic paste from a tube, one squirt of lemongrass from a tube, fish sauce, juice of a lime, Splenda, creamy peanut butter.

Bring it to a low simmer and keep fiddling till it tastes good?

Sorry, this was a last minute, on the fly soup.
