a quad espresso, so probably equal to your 3 regular coffees.

a single shot of espresso has the caffein equivalent of about 3-4 cups of coffee.. A quad shot is equal to about a pot of coffee.

No. You cannot equate an espresso to a 'cup of coffee' without defining terms. IE, I can brew a cup of regular coffee with 10 cups of grounds to 1 cup of water and it's gonna have a LOT more caffeine than Texas regular coffee, which is 10 cups of water to 1 tea spoon of grounds.

Espresso usually has LESS caffeine per ml than brewed coffee, as the prolonged water contact of brewing extracts more caffeine than the forced steam used in espresso making. On the other hand, if you're drinking italian style blends made with some robusto beans, you're getting more caffeine than pure arabica coffee.

i switched to decaf espresso recently, and i do miss my am fix.

I drank two monsters and popped two or three energy pills all withing 20 minutes of each other one night. Thought I could handle it since caffeine never really affected me much. Boy was I wrong. About an hour later I was laying on the couch in a cold sweat, heart racing, couldn't close my eyes, and was hearing voices.
I didn't get to study as much as I wanted to that night

Not sure what this means, but I'm serious. Energy drinks are part of a culture, one that both attracts and perpetuates immaturity. Ween yourself off of them by acknowledging that what you're drinking is terrible for you and that you refuse to be a slave to mass marketing campaigns full of bullshite.

The "dangers" of coffee aren't only overblown; it's increasingly apparent that they're completely made up. Along with other misguided 80's/90's dietary guidelines, we went through large period of thinking that coffee was a "vice." It is not. It is loaded with antioxidants, contains no calories, and has been shown to be highly preventive against diseases such as parkinsons, alzheimers, diabetes, liver disease, and a number of cancers. Coffee has also been shown to improve both mental and physical performance.

What's more is that the maximum benefits accrue to those who are the heaviest coffee drinkers. As long as you aren't pregnant or have some kind of weird heart defect, it doesn't appear that you can have "too much" coffee.

Here's just a sampling of links, but the point is that coffee is great for you and meant to be enjoyed.

I'd rather drink a ton of caffeine than something with a bunch of chemical ingredients I can't pronounce.

lol, I'm good.

Everything that you drink or eat contains a bunch of chemicals that you can't pronounce, especially coffee.

Went cold turkey in January when my DR asked me to ween down my intake. Was using a 5 hour energy every morning plus 2-5 cokes a day. Also frequent headaches and almost daily use of Excedrin Migraine which is caffeinated.

For about two weeks I got headaches. After that I found that I was sleeping much much better and felt better each day. Replaced cokes with water. Took a sip of a coke this week out of curiosity and found it to be overly sweet and unappealing.

A "real" coke is like a strong dessert. It can be quite tasty every once in a while.

All of this, unless you are drinking a gallon a day coffee is good for you. I thought this was common knowledge, but apparently not.

Exactly my experience. I quit caffeine when I quit smoking. It was hard, but certainly worth it.
