We will be in DC for a long weekend soon. I wanted to get some recommendations for the area.

My wife and son will be with me. We are all big steak lovers. We'd love to go to a good-great steak place. My wife is also a big Thai fan, so a recommendation for that would be great. I doubt I can convince my people to step out to something we've never had like Ethiopian or Moroccan, but throw one out there if you have one. I'll try to talk them into one.

Traditional American and Italian are out.

TIA.

We were in DC last Spring, and these places stood out for me:

Thai fan

Try Laotian food at Thip Kao.

Ethiopian

Technically it's Eritrean, but Keren is really good.

I had a great lunch at Proof . My best meal overall was Rose's Luxury.

For steak/meat, the best place in my book right now is Del Campo-
LINK

Argentinian-style chef-driven steak restaurant. I've heard it can be inconsistent, but I've never had a bad meal there.

I know you said no Italian, but Fiola Mare is killer for seafood.

Blue Duck

We tried this last time we were in DC, and we both loved it. We are heading back there in a few weeks, and this is a high priority for us.
