So says the unknown food critic

“ Warbucks opened last fall on Magazine Street with an eclectic menu and a backstory to match, drawing inspiration from 1990’s rap and skateboarding. It will close next week after just eight months in business.

The restaurant will serve its final meal on the night of July 6.”

Least surprising closing of the half-year.

Grabbed a burger from there last week. Went downhill quick.

Sad to see the tomato bisque go.

I can't believe a hip hop/skateboard themed restaurant opened by a middle aged white guy didn't make it.

I don't think a bisque is rocket science. Wasn't exactly a sysco restaurant.

I only went once, and it definitely didn't live up to the hype I had heard when it first opened.

They should have never taken the smoked octopus red beans off the menu

I had heard positive things about the food. What’s the story here?

Over saturated restaurant scene and not surviving through the slow traffic of Nola summer.

Blows me away how many people open businesses without the operating capital to survive the start up phase.

It is/was a BRG restaurant/concept.

Or opening a restaurant with a concept of serving something other than an actual meal.

The food was pretty good, but it seemed all but impossible to craft an actual meal off their menu.

I thought it was pretty good, but honestly I couldn’t even tell you what I ate, so that isn’t a good sign.

Odd concept, from the get-go. Middle aged white guy wanna be rapper who’s also a chef....that doesn’t exactly scream hip or cool, it hollers “desperation” on the part of BRG. It’s like they set out to capture a Turkey and the Wolf style punky quirkiness and ended up with...meh.
