Their valuation is ridiculous. The price per barrel is something like 12 bucks a pint I read. Constellation made the same bid on BP and look at where that deal is. Hard pass. The MT CEO did an AMA yesterday and got railed.

No planned dividends

No planned benefits at brewery

No planned share buybacks

No thanks

the whole thing reads like corporate panhandling

I would not go that far. Some of the questions were rough but most of the dialogue read like it was pretty productive.

Good beer. I visited their taproom when I was out in San Diego.

Breweries are risky, I backed out of a good opportunity because of a valuation I didn’t like. They take forever to profit and most brewmasters want to pay themselves 100k out the door.

What I read was they had a ton of debt, like, not the okay debt. And the plan to pay it back wasn’t great. Couldn’t get solid bank loans, so, here we are.

I have no idea if this is true. So. I bought a 4-pack of Modern times today.

Local brewery near me went out of business a couple of years ago. When speaking to him about investment opportunities, his evaluation was way out of proportion with his actual value. Sweat equity and future, predicted earnings was part of his reasoning. For those reasons and poor marketing eventually led to his demise. Making beer is the easy part, having a business plan of getting to market is where a lot of them fail...the rest just make crappy beer

I just think the craft market is oversaturated and full of beers that look/taste the same.

I do grocery store sampling for an Austin brewery at HEB's in Houston.
I set up last weekend near an end cap with about 8 rows of beers.

I sold about 5 cases of my beers-and didn't see a single beer move off the end cap in the 3 hours I was there.

There must be some breweries that are really hurting right now.
It's not where I would put my money unless there was 100% chance of being bought out by AB/InBev or another large investor.
