Really some of the worst BBQ I ever had was at this place. I would rate it below VooDoo.

Metairie is getting a new barbecue joint next month. The Ugly Dog Saloon & BBQ, which was first launched in the New Orleans Warehouse District, is scheduled to open its second location May 12 along Severn Avenue, owner Jeff Bordelon said Wednesday (April 26).

"We are coming around the bend," Bordelon said. "We just have to clean."

The Metairie location, which Bordelon said would cater more to families and offer a kid-friendly menu, is at 3220 Severn Ave. near Lakeside Mall. The renovated space is in the former Phil's Grill, which closed in November

Bad, bad, bad venture by Ugly Dog. I expect it to cost them heavily.

I forgot about them, right across from the best BBQ in Metry, I don't go to Metry unless I really have to

I think there is a Dickey's too so I really was wrong.

I know you say that all the time. I may live here but spend most of our money in New Orleans when it comes to dining.

Dickey's is about the level of Voodoo, forgot about them. Ate there once just to see.

Do they have room for all their microwaves in there?

I call places like this and Voodoo Crock Pot BBQ. Can't believe Saucy's is still kicking on Magazine, that fit the bill too.

food is terrible at the warehouse district location but it's a great place to watch a game and drink

Why would anyone order anything but a beer there? I have been twice to watch a game and actually didn't know they served food

20 years ago it was the best barbecue restaurant in New Orleans proper.

It probably didn't hurt being that I think it was the only one then, but they actually put out a decent pulled pork and made the best cole slaw I've ever had.

Last time I went was about 5 years ago. The pork was awful. They no longer had the cole slaw. And I think my son got food poisoning on a hamburger.
