Pepper chicken is one of my favorites and comparable in some ways to Kung pao. Don't forget the naan for the sauces.

Indian food is great. A lot of people give it a negative connotation but unless you are from South Dakota the spice is no big deal.

Garlic Naan

Navratan Korma (mild mixed vegetable dish)

My kids love the chicken tikka masala. As stated above it's a good mild gateway dish.

Also any of the Biryani rice dishes would be good.

I'm addicted to the cuisine.

Most of the restaurants will allow you to tell them how spicy to prepare your dishes.

First thing I tried was chicken Tandoori. I thought it was a good starter.

Agreed.

I'm also a fan of samosa for an appetizer.

Tandoori Shrimp, Garlic Naan bread, Indian chili sauce.

I put the shrimp and sauce on the naan. Indian Sammich at its finest.

Indian food is the best genre I know of that is so obviously ignored in the US. I guess all the shite buffets turnoff people willing to try it. I spend a good deal of time in England and if it weren't for Indian food, I'd probably only eat breakfast everyday, LOL. While that's hyperbole, I'm glad I got introduced to it there and really wish we had more choices in the US. To me, it's better than Chinese, especially if you're in the mood for a family style meal.

Where'd you go?
