Mission Street IPA on its Way
Trader Joe’s grocery store has a private label agreement with Firestone Walker, that provides the specialty grocery store with Fat Weasel Ale, Jumping Cow Ale, and the GABF Award Winning Mission Street label. Because Firestone Walker is so good at making beers of the Pale variety, they are adding Mission Street IPA, which will be shipping in the next 3 to 4 weeks. Here is the label that you can look forward to seeing on your Trader Joe’s shelf. According to Firestone Walker, this will be the last private label brew they make for the specialty grocery store for a while.

Ok. You got me. I'm a closed minded bad arse bigot. I've never experienced life and culture at all and I'm just scared of differences that I encounter so I result to attacking those differences.
Ya got me....

I like it, good prices and have been happy with their stuff.

I went this past Saturday for the first time and was a little underwhelmed, however I enjoyed the experience and will be back again to try some of their different products.

I feel the same way. But I don't want to go in blind. Hince the reason for this thread.

What I really like about Trader Joe's is that the aisles are very wide, not narrow like Whole Foods.
They are so wide that I would love to see a staged shite Stomping of the Hipsters in that store by STINKDOG12.
Would.be.epic
Call me a fat hipster, but I love that CookieButter.

shite, I ate at least 3 tablespoons this afternoon. That stuff alone is reason enough for a return trip. And that's before the 2 kiddos have put that liquid christmas cookie goodness in their mouth! I have a feeling I will be making cookie butter case trips once they taste that heavenly delight.

I went in looking for Oskar Blues. No such luck.
This store was underwhelming, but I'll go occasionally to restock coffee and seasonal produce on special. The regular prices weren't any better than Southside Produce.

Went in there yesterday and walked out. There must've been at least 100 people in the store. The shelves were pretty much emptied out, it looked like a store before a hurricane is supposed to hit. I'm going to give it a while before i venture back.

I must be too StinkDog, because that was a pretty accurate description of the patrons at the ones I went to in CA this summer because I was curious to see what we had coming. Of course, that WAS in South LA....
I haven't been in the one here yet, just because it's packed every day when I pass by. I have heard it's the new hot spot to daytime troll for MILFs, edging out the Millerville Target.

Which ones are worth a shot?
Been a few years, but I remember the Simpler Times Lager and Pilsner both being pretty decent beers, especially for the price and ABV. I haven't had any of their other beers.
Interesting that it's Firestone Walker making their Mission Street stuff.

Thanks for that link to their supplying breweries. If that is accurate nationwide, I'll be shopping there for some of those. Never had a bad beer from FW, and GI and Shipyard both generally produce decent product. Do they offer make your own six packs?

I didn't see that but I did notice that almost every six pack had a couple beers missing out of it. So I have to assume that they don't mind you breaking up a sixer. So with that being said..I guess you can get what you want.

I go weekly and pick up a few things...produce, hummus, veggie sticks that the kids love, etc.
The kids also love these:
The place smells like hippie BO though.

I saw those ice cream sammiches and thought about it but I don't eat sweets. I know my kiddos would live them though when they get here.

So i went to TJ's yesterday to take a look, and pick up a couple items.
Well, i don't get it. I guess i expected more, but there really wasn't that much in there. Their produce is very lacking. Other than that, everything seems to packaged, which i guess is the thing for that store, didn't know that going in. But yeah, it was pretty empty, shelf wise. But it was not short in abundance with hipsters and sorority hobo's. And, the level of assholes there firmly exceeds whole foods. There were a multitude of carts in the way, with their owners no where to be found. And then all of the rude arse people walking literally 1 foot behind me and reaching in front and around me. And i wasn't even stopping to pick up stuff. I eventually left without buying anything because i didn't want to wait in the cluster of a lines for only a thing of coffee.
I'll give it another try in about a month, when all the hipsters and assholes have cleared out. But as of now, i don't get it. Much better and easier places to go grocery shopping.
