Trying to imagine a scenario where it would be worth going there instead of Metairie.

What's the deal with Trader Joe's cashiers wanting to start a conversation with every customer? It sucks when you're in a hurry and have to wait for a 10 minute conversation in front you.

I hate it. I go up to the register with noodles, jar of red sauce, ground beef, and a bottle of red wine.

Cashier: OMG are we cooking spaghetti tonight?????
Me: Ugh dont talk to me

I go up to the cashier with 6 bottles of wine, 3 cases of beer, and 2 liquors.

Cashier: OMG are we having a party tonight?????
Me: No, im an alcoholic

The place is awful to go in

I'll go in sometimes and just buy a pack of boneless skinless chicken breasts, the most boring shite in the world, and they'll still ask me what I'm cooking. I'm cooking some sad, boring chicken breasts to eat with rice because it's fast and cheap but I'm not proud of it and don't want to talk about it

So glad that we r finally getting a Trader Joe’s!

Not to diminish that win, but wtf midcity already has a bunch of grocery stores. NO East, the 9th wards , the West Bank and gentilly really need some GD resources like this ::rant over::

I go to a local store and whenever there’s a conversation, it’s genuine and natural. And I make sure no one is waiting behind me. At TJ, it is so fake and forced that if you come back the next day, the cashier won’t even remember you or the conversation. But I get it’s part of their business model.

This will be 12 mins from us in Algiers - I'll go. No worse than being aggressively panhandled/sad storied in the parking lot at the BR location.

Parking would be my only thing. If there's a bigger lot, I'll try it, otherwise, let the criminals have it.

It’s been a slow burn with the area near the Whole Foods on broad. Thought it would start to change a bit but hasn’t much.

Trader Joe’s is a nice addition to that area tho. Hope it helps it grow a little more. It’s going to be jammed packed
