Burgersmith

I don't know if it's just me, but Burgersmith only seemed to be able to cook my burger right about 25% of the time. I order it medium but it was almost always either well done or damn near raw. I haven't been there in over a year because of it.

Weird thing is it didn't matter which location I went to, they all had the same issue though Acadian was the worst about it.

Burger smith is just so bland to me every time I’ve had it. It isn’t awful but at its price point there are plenty of other better options out there.

The burger at SouLou sounds good on paper but I haven’t been by there since they opened.

Never had it. It’s been years since I’ve been here. But every meal I’ve had at Steak 18 was just ok, but way over priced.

Pimanyolis does indeed have a really good burger. Their best sandwich by far and away is the Warren though.

My favorite burger is riverside. the burger is classic and delicious though maybe not necessarily special. I just love me some tator tots and that just really rounds it out for me.

as i have said many times here, Fat cow within the 1st year is was open was fan fricking tastic.....something changed after that

They changed ownership after some time and afterwards the quality went down. They also used to have some of the best milkshakes in town too.

I also agree with you about Curbside. Out of the food truck, they were amazing. Brick and mortar, just completely average. I’m not entirely sure why.

For me, my favorite burger in BR is Beer Garden’s. A few other places that are up there would be:
Eliza
Smalls
Solera
Bin 77

Would have put Fat Cow and Curbside on there but they’ve both gone downhill. Same with Overpass Merchant. Last time I got a burger there the bun was completely damp. Maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen but the last few times I’ve had food there were just okay. Beer Garden is way more consistent.

I also tried Superior’s burger after much high praise from this board and don’t get the hype at all. Is there a specific one y’all get there? Next time I go I’ll give it another try…

Burgersmith in the top 5? I wouldn't put them in the top 20.

I like Superior's burger, but it isn't as good as the ones on your list above, so I wouldn't go out of my way to order it over something else you like more there. The reason I order it sometimes is because I'm not someone who craves Mexican food all the time.

The nicer spots tend to put out a great burger. Bin 77's burger is fantastic. Fleming's used to be, so I assume it still is. Ruth's lunch one is good. I saw Ruffino's had one on the menu the other night, but I have never tried it.

Agree that Curbside and Merchant can be hit or miss, but when they are hitting, I enjoy them. They use quality ingredients, so my only misses with them have been either the patty temperature or no seasoning on the patty itself before it hit the grill. I think that falls more on the line cook that was working that day than anything else, which explains why sometimes they're great.

Don’t hear about them as much anymore for some reason. I know their happy hour 10 or so years ago people would fight to get a seat in the bar area at 4:30.

Are those days long gone?

Does Capitol City Grill still exist? They used to have a really good burger.
