It is a great place to hang out and offers activities for kids. You have Gilla opening in Ascension, Istrouma by La'Berge (sp?) La Chien and Southern Craft

Thought you had the only good four pack

Also have Rally Cap opening on Industriaplex and Cypress Coast opening on Govt by Fleur de Lis.
Being average doesn’t usually work in the business world. Sometimes it takes awhile to catch up with you, but it will. Four new breweries opening in the BR area by the end of the year could make it interesting for existing average breweries.

True.

Yep. Tin Roof turned the corner when they shook things up and Jacob joined them. It will be interesting to see what happens there now.

It would be great if he influenced Parish to finally put a canning line in Broussard, but given the QC problems with the cans at TR he might be opposed. Virtually every other top brewery in the country is doing cans, Andrew doesn’t seem likely to relent.

They need to if they want long term success

Umm yes there is. Who wants to drink average inconsistent beer? Except you of course.

Not sure what you would be looking for, they have a food struck, they have games, they have beer, they have tv's... For kids on the first Friday of the month, they have bounce houses and stuff.
Just to sit out and have a beer and something to keep kids entertained it would be fine.

The fact is that TR makes decent beer that I'm perfectly happy to drink.
This is true. I've been critical of Tin Roof since they rolled out because it basically took them until winning the GABF for Voodoo for them to start producing good beer. Everything else was meh to ok. But they are finally getting beers out the door that i'm interested in drinking. I usually keep voodoo in the fridge at all times. It's replaced Envie for a while now.

I disagree with this. They can get away with it now, but when there are 4-6 breweries in BR, they'll need to start pumping out "world class" beer. I don't understand any brewery who wouldn't be trying to make every beer they make "world class".
Also, nowadays, you can't rely on flagship beers anymore. Well, you may be able to do that in Louisiana for a little bit longer, but as competition grows, you need to diversify. As much as i don't like the fruited/lactose/kitchen sink IPA's/Stouts/sours, etc... They do provide variety without the effort of brewing up a new batch for every new beer. If you could brew a pale ale and offer 3 "different" beers from that one recipe by fruiting or other additions, then go for it. That's what Urban South is doing with some success.

Yes, because there's nothing that says good parenting like bringing kids to a bar while the adults imbibe in alcoholic beverages, and then drive home afterward.
If I'm going out for a few beers, I don't want kids within eye distance from me.

Maybe learn to drink responsibly? I've never brought my kids to a brewery, but i don't see the harm in it. Adults with kids, like to go somewhere for an hour or 2, eat a quick meal, and drink 1 or 2 beers. Would be pretty nice, actually, to go grab a quick lunch at the brewery and drink a couple beers, while the kids play.
Or, have you ever thought that maybe, one of the parents is the DD?

If you are at a brewery, without kids, staring at other kids at a bouncy house, maybe you aren't the person that should be at that brewery?

I believe his post meant that when he goes out drinking, he prefers there to be no kids at the establishment
Not that he is a danger to kids

I know, it was a joke...
But, also, why should it matter that kids are there? I get it if the kids are climbing on your tables, or spilling your beer, or generally causing havoc to others around them, that aren't their parents. I, too, would get annoyed. But for well behaved kids that are just playing on a bouncy castle, i don't see the problem.
Granted, i'm also assuming that parents are actually watching their kids and aren't treating the brewery like a daycare.

You would assume... but you might also be giving people too much credit.

I wish more bars and breweries would implement a leash law for small children.
