Never been that impressed with Lea's in Lecompte.

However, the following are great!

DI's (Basile)
Rabideaux's (Iowa) we always take our deer there for sausage processing (get them to make it triple smoke and triple spice)

is it the marina up on stilts that looks like it was building out of fence boards? if so I believe the name is the cajun inn right at the turn from LA1 into Fouchon.

Anybody mentioned Gautreaux's in Duson? Just south of I-10. Best take-it-home-and-cook-it- yourself boudin ever.

Best eat-it-here boudin is the smoked link at Best Stop in Scott. Best cracklins too.

Also real good boudin and cracklins at Bergeron's on La. Hwy. 415 (Lobdell exit north from I-10) in Port Allen.

BTW, Camille's is on U.S. Hwy. 190 in Erwinville, not Port Allen. Terrific grilled fish fillet dinner.

Thanks for the list. I travel the state for my job and I'm always looking for good places to eat. I've eaten at several places on your list and they're all good. There's a place in Franklin that has the best roast beef poboy I've ever eaten, but I cannot think of the establishment's name.

Cascio's in Monroe has some pretty good Italian food. It's connected to a convenience store.

I disagree... the one in Des Allemands is very good. Excellent catfish, poboys, onion sticks, and some of the best gumbo I've ever had. Not to mention the best bloody marys in the world...
