MrsAntiqueTiger got me this today for our 20th anniversary, plus a couple extra things.

I’m a little overwhelmed on what to do with them. I’m not even sure what a Denver steak and Teres Major are.

I will probably make corndogs with tempura batter, with the hot dogs.

Any recs?

What is waygu?

No way that’s actually wagyu at that price.

Teres Major is good. Very tender.

There’s different grades of wagyu and now, there’s a market for the brand “wagyu” so you’re seeing the lesser grades marketed.

This is high grade wagyu. The lower grades are still good, but it’s not the “real” wagyu experience. Nothing wrong with what the OP has, enjoy.

It's not Japanese waygu it's American waygu, they should clarify that

I didn’t mean to imply that there was. I’d still like to know what waygu is.

If you truly do not know what wagyu is, then how do you know the value?

He's being an idiot because in a couple lines of the gift box contents it's spelled waygu not wagyu. Ignore that fool.

How am I being an idiot? I'm obviously joking, but they should fix their typos.

Denver steak

It's essentially a marketing thing. My butcher frequently has them and they are priced nicely for what they are. It's a little step up from a sirloin. Here's a thread where I cooked one. I did mine sous vide, but I would have to think twice about sous-viding a wagyu cut. Just doesn't seem right, but I'm also not opposed to it.

That place is dangerous!

Their onion jam burgers are tasty.
The pepper jelly sausage will make your heard tingle.
The Cherry Cayenne sausage is really good.

It is very decadent. Plan on being able to eat only about half what you normally would. It's amazing.

Aubie, what you are posting is full blood Wagyu. What The Meatatory is selling is American Wagyu. Nothing wrong with it, just mixed with something like angus usually.

No idea why you're getting attacked and downvoted. The pic in the OP clearly has two spellings. "waygu" and "wagyu". It's either a typo or "waygu" is some kind of brand name intentionally used to trick people.

It real Wagyu, it’s just American Wagyu or Australian Wagyu. You are not getting high grade Japanese Wagyu at this price.

The other things my wife got me were some Wagyu hamburger patties, bacon jelly jam, and Wagyu tallow garlic butter (or something like that).

I may make the corndogs tonight, served with the bacon jam.

I see on their website, they make hot dog egg rolls wit the hotdogs.

Yep. I can get the American stuff near the house. It's very good.
