Anyone been? Need newer place in BR for anniversary... thinking there or Gouter. Thoughts? Thanks.

Went a couple Fridays ago. Was pretty loud for an anniversary place. Stuck to the flatbreads and some chargrilled oysters. Oysters were extraordinarily small. Flatbreads were good. Will probably try again and get actual entrees.

I wouldn't go to either of those for an anniversary dinner.
Gouter is too loud and the Gregory is in the lobby of the hotel.
If anything, get drinks at those places before/after a meal at Ruth's Chris' Tsunami, Stroube's, Gino's etc.
For drinks, I would also add the Overpass Merchant to the list of possibilities.

Heard it was not good at all from 3 different people now. Don't waste your anniversary there.

Thanks for comments but I posted late and wound up going. She was excited when I told her where I booked.
Being in the lobby of the hotel was weird, watching parties who were staying at hotel come in and out.
Menu was on an ipad with pictures of each dish.. kinda cool.
Apps were too small for the price. You should be able to share $15 app IMO.
Got the pork dish and it was ok but impossible to really mess up. The brussel sprouts side was terrible..not carmelized, almost raw.
Wouldn't be bad place for a group, especially if you plan on going for drinks downtown afterwards. But I doubt I'll actively try to go there again.

This is what I was told. They are steamed, but not cooked all the way so they're still crunchy as if raw. With roasted or flash fried brussels sprouts being such a popular dish the past few years, you'd think a chef would know better than to serve them lightly steamed.

We've been a couple of times. Thought the food was pretty good. I got the bahn mi once. It was nice, but not cheap. Everything we've had was solid. Decent beer selection.

Been once. Wasn't horrible but not worth the money. Stroubes and Little Village are both on the same street and much better for the same money IMHO.

I went a few weeks ago... really disappointing unfortunately. None of the entrees are necessarily appetizing. They're just kind of weird dishes. One of them I remember being like a crab pasta dish with some sort of marinara sauce... my girlfriend got it and it honestly tasted like something you could get from the St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen.
Downtown can do better than "The Gregory."
Some pros for the restaurant would be the bar. Really nice and laid back themed with TVs. They also have these iPads that are used as menus, which is cool, but a little confusing at first.
2.5/5 for food
A soft 4/5 in regards to atmosphere.
Will most likely never go again.

I have been a few times during lunch, and the food has been ok. I like the concept of their express lunch (entree, soul, salad, small dessert), but they don't really change up the options. After a few lunch visits I exhausted the express lunch, so it would be nice to provide some verity. I want to try some of the flatbreads as those look really good.
With that said, I really like the decor and atmosphere. The original art in the place, which I believe was a bank at one point, is really cool.
