There isn't any. They are all in NOLA. If NOLA can have numerous "local" restaurants, can't BR just have 1?

Apparently not...it is what it is.

Wait, Baton Rouge has no local places? News to me. That said I didn't go back and re-read this 2 month old thread so I might be getting something out of context.

I think they meant like.. your LA food that we're known for. And I tend to agree. The other day I tried to name 10 seafood/LA restaurants in BR and couldn't do it. Now, I might have just forgotten some, but I could name 10 pizza joints in under a minute.
There are VERY few places I would take someone from out of town in BR to show off our type of food. It's weird how something our state is known for is outnumbered by sushi, Mexican, pizza, etc.

Flip burgers at an UPSCALE burger joint. So dumb..
I once had someone from BR tell me that the trailer park her boyfriend lived in was "Sophisticated".

Name another local chef close to BR.

Seems like there are as many people who don't like Folse as there are that do.

What BR needs is some non-local hotshot chef to open up a restaurant. Not Mexican, Italian, Cajun, or any other sepcific genre.

I'm thinking Michael Symon.

The chef Justin (something) that is at Stroubes is something to note as well. Even though it is a chop house there are still some other things that come out the kitchen that are legit.

Also, they Le Creole should get a mention as well.
